007 First Light: Man of the Hour walkthrough (every Q-Lab collectible and code)

A room-by-room Man of the Hour walkthrough that pockets all four collectibles and cracks both keypad codes before the Q-Lab lockdown slams shut.

Man of the Hour turns MI6’s own Q-Lab into a supply run: Bond helps himself to a new Q-Watch, a Service Pistol and a full set of gadgets he was never cleared to take, then walks out the front doors as if nothing happened.

This 007 First Light Man of the Hour walkthrough follows the mission in order, from the administrative floors up top down to the sealed testing chambers below. It flags every room you need to breach, both keypad codes, and each key item you must collect to advance.

It also pins all four collectibles the level hides. Grab them on your first pass: once you pick up the prototype Q-Watch and drop into the ventilation escape, there is no backtracking.

Man of the Hour objectives, in mission order

The chapter runs through a short, linear objective list. Following it top to bottom keeps you from missing a collectible or a required key item:

  • Talk to Moneypenny
  • Follow Moneypenny
  • Steal field equipment
  • Find gadgets
  • Find a Q-Watch
  • Escape the stress test chamber
  • Get a new service pistol
  • Leave MI6

Act I: the office check-in and the Niko Murto Locket

The mission opens on the administrative floors of MI6, with a brief window to explore before you report in. Use it to grab the first collectible.

From your starting position, head down the stairs to your left to reach the accounting control room. You can listen in on the office chatter and speak directly to Basil; the collectible sits on the desk right behind him.

  • Memento: Niko Murto Locket — on the desk directly behind Basil in the accounting control room.

With it in hand, head back up the stairs toward Moneypenny’s office. There is an optional chat with Whitlock nearby if you want it. Enter the office to trigger a cinematic, then follow Moneypenny through the corridors to the main elevator. She escorts you down and drops you onto the main floor of the Q-Lab.

Act II: the Q-Lab heist (Trilby Hat, Service Pistol and gadgets)

Once Q clears out, the lab is yours. You need a new Q-Watch, your gadgets and a Service Pistol to advance, and there are two collectibles to sweep up along the way.

Start with the detour for the Legacy Item before you touch your functional gear:

  • Legacy Item: Trilby Hat — in the Q-07 Wearables room. Check the individual changing booths to find the classic hat.

Next, breach the locked Q-08 Armory to claim your sidearm. You have two ways past the electronic keypad:

  • The code method: enter the combination 1324. This code is the top score on the leaderboard inside the adjacent Q-09 Shooting Range.
  • The vent method: enter the Q-09 Shooting Range, vault over the firing counters, move to the back-right corner and crawl through the exposed wall vent to drop straight into the Armory.

Inside the Armory, grab two key items: the Gadget Testing Keycard and your new Service Pistol.

The keycard opens the Q-02 Gadget Testing room directly, but taking the athletic route through the gym nets you the third collectible:

  • Postcard: Q-Lab — enter the Q-01 Gym, climb onto the tall filing cabinets and leap the gap to the upper structural ledge on the far wall. Follow the narrow upper hallway to a desk at the end, where the postcard is waiting.

From that upper vantage point, drop straight down into the Q-02 Gadget Testing room below. Interact with the Gadget Cart to fully equip your loadout, then use the door to exit back to the main lab floor.

Act III: the lockdown escape and the Rhys Beckett Intel

A classic Aston Martin speeds through a stone archway in a Mediterranean town in 007 First Light, kicking up dust.

Your last piece of gear, the prototype Q-Watch, sits inside the Q-03 Stress Testing chamber, and grabbing it springs a trap. Clear the collectible first.

The main door to Q-03 is mechanically sealed. Equip a gadget and destroy the red fire extinguisher mounted on the wall to the left of the door; the blast shorts out the control panel and pops the door open.

  • Intel: Rhys Beckett — inside the chamber, open the locked storage cabinet on the left wall with the combination 4397. That code matches the license plate of the test car parked in the room.

Now walk to the testing desk and pick up the prototype Q-Watch. This trips the room’s security sensors, sealing the chamber into a full lockdown. A note on the wall explains the lockdown only lifts for a catastrophic environmental emergency, so you have to start a fire manually. Work through it in order:

  1. Climb the ladder on the side of the testing rig and press the red system override button at the top.
  2. Cross the elevated metal gantry and open the large red valve on the red pipeline to flood the system with gas.
  3. Use your new Q-Watch to remotely hack open the orange shutter on the opposite testing machine.
  4. Drop to the ground floor, walk to the exposed furnace and press the ignition button to spark the fire.
  5. The fire-suppression logic pops an emergency floor hatch open. Drop into the ventilation duct and crawl to the end, exiting back into the Q-02 Gadget Testing room.

Act IV: walking out of MI6

An armed man keeps watch atop a shipping container in a crowded coastal market in 007 First Light while the protagonist looks on.

With your full loadout secured, exit Q-02 and walk back onto the main floor of the Q-Lab. Return to the primary elevator bank and ride the lift all the way up to the MI6 ground-floor lobby. Stroll past the front security gates and out the front doors of the building to complete the mission; a cutscene takes over from there and rolls you straight into the next chapter.

All Man of the Hour collectibles and codes

Blinding muzzle flash fills the frame during a firefight in 007 First Light, lighting the action beneath a bridge.

Four collectibles and two keypad codes are hidden across the chapter. Grab everything before you pick up the Q-Watch, since the ventilation escape locks you out of every earlier room:

  • Memento: Niko Murto Locket — desk behind Basil, accounting control room (Act I).
  • Legacy Item: Trilby Hat — a changing booth in the Q-07 Wearables room (Act II).
  • Postcard: Q-Lab — desk at the end of the Q-01 Gym’s upper hallway (Act II).
  • Intel: Rhys Beckett — locked cabinet in Q-03 Stress Testing, code 4397 (Act III).
  • Q-08 Armory keypad — code 1324 (top score in the Q-09 Shooting Range).
  • Q-03 storage cabinet — code 4397 (matches the test car’s license plate).
