007 First Light: how to beat Murto without a single weapon

Trapped and weaponless in the Webb Gala storage room, you turn the room’s own traps against Murto to drain his health and end the chase.

Murto is the white-haired villain James has been chasing all game, and you finally corner him near the end of the Uninvited chapter — only to get locked in a storage room with no weapons at all. To beat Murto in 007 First Light, you fight the way Bond does best: with gadgets and the environment instead of a gun.

This guide covers the whole encounter, from how the weaponless hide-and-seek actually works to every hackable trap that chips his health, plus the finisher that ends it. The rhythm is always the same loop: lure Murto onto a trap, spring it, then vanish before he pins you down. Read it in order and he goes down without a single close call.

How the Murto boss fight works

A masked enemy shoulders a rocket launcher on an industrial rooftop at sunset in 007 First Light, poised to strike with an RPG.

You have no weapons here — only your Q-Watch, which hacks the environmental objects packed into the storage room. Each type of object can be used against Murto only once, because his AI hunts you like Mr. Freeze in Batman: Arkham City: he studies the room and won’t fall for the same trick twice.

Watch for the motion-activated alarms and their laser grids scattered across the floor. Step into one and Murto is instantly alerted to your position — but you can flip that against him, baiting him into a spot right next to a trap. Use the motion sensors and sound objects near each trap to walk him exactly where you want him. Other objects scattered around the room recharge your gadgets’ batteries, so grab them between plays to keep the Q-Watch topped up.

Fume Extractors: disorient him and slip away

The protagonist creeps forward, weapon in hand, through a jungle-lined corridor in 007 First Light while trailing a target.

Fume Extractors are the most common object in the room, sitting both along the edges and in the middle. Hacking one while Murto is close damages his health and disorients him for a while, which is your window to break his line of sight and reposition. Because there are so many of them, this is your reliable bread-and-butter opener.

Floodlights: blind him in the corners

The protagonist walks through an auction hall with a suit of armor on red carpet in 007 First Light, approaching a suspicious woman.

Floodlights are tucked into the corners of the room. Lure Murto into one and hack it to blind him for a prolonged stretch while it eats into his health bar. Use the sensors to walk him into a corner first, then trigger the panel while he’s standing in it.

Cargo Lift: electrocute him on the plates

A cargo plane flies low over a forest road as a yellow car drives beneath it in 007 First Light.

Cargo Lifts sit at the sides of the storage room as metal plates set into the floor. Hack one while Murto is standing on top of it and it electrocutes him for solid damage. Just make sure you’re clear of the plate before you trigger it, or the current catches James too.

Chandelier: the finishing blow that beats Murto

Close-up of a masked hitman with a scarf and dark sunglasses in 007 First Light, an enigmatic enemy confronting the protagonist.

There’s a single Chandelier hanging in the middle of the room, and it deals the biggest chunk of damage of any trap. Unlike everything else, you can’t drop it with the Q-Watch alone — you need your Laser Strap or your Dart Phone to cut it loose and bring it down on top of him.

Once his health hits zero, control hands over to a cutscene where James closes the distance and finishes the job — we’ll leave what happens next for you to see for yourself. That’s the whole fight: no weapons, just the room turned against him.
